Fungal infections can affect skin, nails, mouth, lungs or whole body.

Ringworm (tinea): circular itchy patches on skin or scalp.

Athlete’s foot: scaling, itching between toes, spreads fast in damp shoes.

Jock itch: rash in groin, red and irritating.

Nail fungus: thick, brittle, yellow nails hard to treat.

Oral thrush: white patches in mouth or tongue, sometimes painful.

Yeast infection: itching, burning, discharge in genital area.

Aspergillosis: lung infection, common in weak immunity.

Candida systemic: spreads in blood, serious for people with low resistance.

Treatment depends on type, from creams to oral antifungal or stronger hospital medicine.

Fungal problems are more stubborn than they look. Creams can calm but often it comes back if not treated long enough. nails take months to clear and sometimes need tablets. Thrush and yeast often need both local and oral medicine if they repeat. Lung or blood infections always need doctor care because they can spread deep. Keeping skin dry, changing socks, washing with mild soap, not sharing towels or shoes all help reduce spread. Diet with less sugar sometimes helps because yeast grows on it. Better to get test done if it keeps coming back instead of just using store cream again and again.

One friend went on a trip during summer, wore same damp shoes for days. First it started with small itch between toes, then peeling skin and burning. Later another patch showed on scalp, round and flaky, looked like ringworm. He tried powder from shop, it calmed for a while but came back worse. Finally doctor checked, said it was fungal spread from feet to head. Gave oral pills and cream, told him to keep feet dry and not share hats or towels. After weeks it cleared, but lesson stayed, fungus travels easy if you ignore small signs.

Systemic candida can spread in blood and affect many organs.
Common signs: fever that doesn’t settle, chills, weakness, confusion, skin rashes, low blood pressure, stomach upset, muscle pain.
In serious cases can lead to organ failure if not treated fast.
Needs medical check and antifungal treatment, not just home care.
