Went over to my uncle’s house last weekend and within an hour my nose started running like crazy, eyes burning and I couldn’t stop sneezing. At first i thought maybe dust cause he’s got carpets everywhere and the house smelled a bit musty. then later when they brought snacks i started feeling my throat scratchy too so now i don’t even know if it was food or the house itself. I left early and after a few hours back home it calmed down. This never happens that strong at my own place.
Who get hit like that visiting certain houses or places? how do you even know if it’s dust, pets, or food setting it off?

When i visit certain relatives place. My eyes go red and nose blocked within minutes, then once i leave it settles down. I figured out in one house it was their cat because later testing showed I was allergic. Another time it was just mold smell in basement. Food can do it too but that usually comes with stomach stuff for me. Maybe try noticing if symptoms hit right away when you step in or only after eating. Do you get same reaction anywhere else or only at your uncle’s?

Yeah that sounds real close to what happens with me sometimes when I visit other people’s houses. My nose blocks up and I start sneezing nonstop but when I get back home it settles. I figured out some houses just trigger it more maybe cause of pets or cleaning sprays or even the type of carpets. Food can add on top if you’re sensitive to something. Only way I started to notice was paying attention each place if it happens same way or not. Do you usually get it straight away like within minutes or more after eating?

Once it was at a cousin’s place who has cats, another time at a friend’s with old carpets and air felt heavy. i couldn’t figure if it was pets, dust or even the snacks they served. once i left and got home it slowly faded. do you think it’s more from air and environment or from food served there?
